Program Description

1000WordsESL for Spanish Speakers builds a 1000 SPEAKING word vocabulary of the most frequent English words. Those who learn to see, hear, speak and write this basic vocabulary can be functional in English. The 1000 English words are divided into 50 word units, each unit subdivided into Nouns, Verbs, Pronouns, Adjectives, Adverbs, Prepositions, and Conjunctions. Verbs are additionally subdivided into 'Infinitives and past participles' or 'All Verbs'. 'All verbs' includes first, second, and third persons, singular and plural, as well as infinitives and past participles. There are 4 practice modes: 1. See and hear the English word and click the Spanish definition.Useful for visual and aural recognition of English words and their Spanish definitions. 2. Hear the English word (but do not see it) and click the Spanish definition. Useful for aural recognition and memorization of English words (without visual cue) and their Spanish definitions. 3. See the English word (but do not hear it) and click the Spanish definition . 4. Hear the English word and type the English word. Use the 'Enter' key to check typed answers. Useful for practicing English spelling and aural recognition and memorization of English words. SentencesESL teaches sentence construction linked to each 50 word unit. Testing included.
