Program Description

The 3D Sphere displays images on an interactive 3D Sphere using the Papervision 3D engine. Includes different opening animation effects as well as full mouse interactivity. Thumbnails can zoom in towards the camera when clicked or the camera can zoom in towards the thumbnail. Seamless transitions between thumbnails and large images. Built-in preloader, rollover displacement and tooltips. Available for ActionScript 3.0 (Flash CS3) only. Key features Sphere settings The sphere radius, number of horizontal and vertical segments, and camera distance from the sphere are customizable. Thumbnails can be set to repeat automatically in order to fill the sphere. Navigation styles When a thumbnail is clicked, the camera can zoom into the thumbnail or the thumbnail can leave the sphere and zoom in towards the camera. Custom speed and easing styles. Opening animation effects Option for thumbnails to form the sphere from the center or from outside the boundaries of the sphere, with adjustable speed and easing styles (e.g: elastic, bounce, regular). Rollover displacement The thumbnails can be displaced on rollover. The following displacement settings are available: number of pixels, easing style and speed. External XML file Loads images through an external XML file so there's no need to republish the SWF. All parameters can also be set in the XML file. Full mouse interactivity The sphere reacts to mouse movement by rotating around the X and Y axis, with the option to lock either axis. Scrollwheel zooms in and out of the sphere. ActionScript events Includes ActionScript events. Additional values can be specified for each image in the XML (which can be used, for example, to specify a URL to open or for image descriptions, etc.). Thumbnail settings The backs of the thumbnails can either be a custom or mirrored image, with customizable brightness. Thumbnail size can be set with option to keep aspect ratio.
