VirtualDrive Pro CD emulator converts CDs and unprotected DVDs into a compressed images, or "virtual CDs." Virtual CDs are something like MP3s for games and disc-based applications: they run directly on the hard drive, saving wear and tear on the CD-ROM drive and extending the battery life of laptop computers. Users can manage their virtual CDs in a searchable VCD library, share them over a network, and transport them on just about any digital device. Virtual CDs have access rates nearly 200 times faster than physical discs in a CD-ROM drive, improving the performance of PC games, photo CDs, and disc-based applications. VirtualDrive Pro's simple, intuitive interface makes it a snap to create custom virtual CDs containing favorite tracks, expansion packs, documentation, and custom programs. The software lets you create up to 23 virtual drives and an unlimited number of virtual discs. Launching a virtual CD couldn't be easier: simply insert it an open virtual drive or double click a desktop shortcut to the file. VirtualDrive Pro includes a full copy of Virtual Hard Drive -- RAM disk software that lets you run applications in memory up to 340 times faster.
